Adam Boyden
Prior to joining OPENLANE, Adam Boyden was CEO and President of Autodaq Corporation. Adam has more than five years in the international consulting business, working in China as founder and CEO of the China Consultancy, and in London as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group.
Adam holds a bachelor's degree in engineering science from the University of Exeter and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
Mark Bronder
Mark Bronder is an independent investor. Mark served as director of Autodaq and previously an executive with Sun Microsystems, Institutional Venture Partners and Rolm Corporation (now part of Siemens). Mark also co-founded Pete's Brewing Company, brewers of Pete's Wicked Ale. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University.
Roger L. Butterwick
Roger Butterwick joined OPENLANE in 1998 and serves as President and CEO.
Prior to joining OPENLANE, Roger founded and headed Cambridge Management Associates, an organization offering its services to emerging and developing organizations in capital structuring, securing financing and developing and organizing management teams.
Roger's work experience also includes tenures as Vice President of The Chotin Group Corporation, a multi-billion dollar capital management group, founder and owner of Lehman, Butterwick & Company, P.C., a certified public accounting firm located in Denver, Colorado.
Roger holds a bachelor's degree in science and business administration from the University of Denver. He obtained his CPA from Colorado. He has been a member of the American Institute of CPAs since 1970.
Paul Madera
Paul Madera currently serves as Managing Director of Meritech Capital Partners, a venture capital firm he co-founded in June 1999, where he focuses on investing in the storage, semiconductor and digital consumer sectors.
Before Meritech Capital, Mr. Madera held various positions at Montgomery Securities/Banc of America over 1994 to 1999 including Managing Director and Head of the Private Equity Group. Prior to joining Montgomery, Mr. Madera was an investment banker with Morgan Stanley & Co. in New York and he started his career in the United States Air Force, where he held various positions including F-16 Instructor Pilot and Air Force liaison to the Senate and House Armed Services Committees. Mr. Madera holds a B.S. from the United States Air Force Academy and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
David Marquardt
Dave Marquardt is a 20-year veteran of the venture capital business and his commitment to entrepreneurs and their market vision is reflected by his long-standing board relationships. He has served on more than 25 boards of directors during his career including Microsoft, Sun, Seagate, Adaptec and Grand Junction Networks (acquired by Cisco).
Prior to co-founding August Capital in 1995, Dave was a co-founder of Technology Venture Investors (TVI) in 1980 where he was involved in four highly successful funds. TVI's early investments included Microsoft, where TVI was the sole investor and where Dave has been on the board of directors since 1981.
Dave began his venture career at Institutional Venture Associates, where he spent a year after graduating from business school. Previously, Dave was a design engineer and development manager at Diablo Systems (acquired by Xerox) where he collaborated on and led various disk drive and printer programs.
Dave received a BSME from Columbia University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
R. Gary McCauley
Gary McCauley is an entrepreneur who has owned numerous franchised automobile dealerships in the southwestern United States and has real estate holdings throughout the country. In recent years, Gary has been involved in several growth-oriented technology companies as an investor and director. Sandy Rogers
Sandy Rogers is an independent consultant helping companies with strategy, marketing and customer loyalty initiatives. He spent 14 years with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, most recently as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy. Prior to this, Sandy led the turn-around of the Enterprise's London, England Operation, and before this he served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. He led the teams that developed Enterprise's consumer marketing strategy including the "Pick Enterprise...We'll Pick You Up" television campaign and ESQi, Enterprise's comprehensive system for measuring customer satisfaction across a large, multi-country branch network.
Before joining Enterprise, Sandy held marketing positions at Apple Computer, and worked in brand management at Procter & Gamble. Sandy holds a bachelor's degree from Duke University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
L. David Sikes
Mr. Sikes is a Principal of Exeter Consulting, specializing in consulting for technology start-up companies. In this capacity, he most recently served as the interim CEO of Mobius Microsystem, a semiconductor start-up company.
He also consulted previously as the VP of Business Development for TAEUS International Corporation, an intellectual property services company. Prior to his consulting work he was with Ramtron International Corporation, a specialty semiconductor company, for ten years and served as Chairman and CEO from 1995 to 2001.
Prior to joining Ramtron in 1992, Mr. Sikes was President and CEO of the U.S. operations of ASM International, Vice President for Motorola, Inc. Semiconductor Product Sector, and held management positions with National Semiconductor and Eastman Kodak Company. Mr. Sikes graduated from MIT, earning a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Economics.
Michael Stein
Michael Stein is the Chairman of the Board of OPENLANE. Michael is a co-founder and former CEO of Onlane. An experienced entrepreneur, Michael is a founder of several successful businesses including CAP REIT, Canada's first Apartment REIT which was founded in 1996 and listed on the TSE in May 1997. Michael continues to serve as the Chairman of CAP REIT.
Michael is the founder, Chairman and CEO of The MPI Group, a property development and investment group with a strong track record in incubating, investing in and managing successful companies. Prior to MPI, Michael held progressively senior positions at The Mortgage Insurance Company of Canada, ultimately serving as the Executive Vice President, responsible for operations.
Michael is a member of the Chief Executives Organization (CEO) and the World Presidents Organization (WPO) and a Director of Goldcorp Inc., a NYSE listed natural resource holding company. He has a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Israel Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Columbia University, New York.
